"You have reached Solus zos Galvus. I fear I am unavailable at the moment, but should your query be of an urgent nature, pray leave a message. I shall endeavor to return it anon."
His food's more or less finished by now, so he gently pushes his plate away before he continues.]
She's setting up a business in Ecruteak at the moment. While I rather doubt you'd be a welcome patron, it's the easiest place to find her. If you don't mind the four and a half day trek that it takes to walk there from here.
[He does nothing to hide the exhaustion that clouds his features at the thought of a four and a half day walk. That's right, Carly had mentioned that most of the traveling was done by foot...or riding a beast or a bike. None of these options sounded remotely pleasant.
Perhaps riding a Pokémon aerially would be fine, but he had no such resource.]
...Pity that this world does not have more ample means of transportation. Or, at the very least, not yet available to me.
[He rubs at his eyes with his thumb and forefinger, what an ordeal to go anywhere. Maybe Goldenrod was fine to stay in...it beat walking anywhere else.]
Mayhap I will come across her in time...what means of business is she getting herself involved in?
[Oh good, he has the upper hand in this conversation again. Tyler can relax a little.]
You could always travel to Violet City and get the badge required for permission to Fly. Although the actual HM is elsewhere... [He can't help looking just a little bit smug for a moment there. Let him have this.] Once you've travelled there once, however, you can register at the warp in the Pokemon Centre and quick-travel through that.
I believe Lydia's setting up a performing lounge. Dance is a big thing in Ecruteak, there's a regularly performing troupe of traditional geisha there.
[Solus almost seems like he's too busy mourning the idea of having to walk anywhere, let alone dealing with those silly gyms to garner permission...or seek out the HM...augh. But, when Tyler mentions performance lounge, life seems to come back to him immediately.]
Performing lounge? 'Tis not merely dancing—though I've no issue with such—that will be there, yes?
I'm not sure what other acts she has lined up yet, but. Possibly?
[On the table, Isis is still staring at Solus, but now gently nudging aside Tyler's empty coffee cup so she can sit neatly in its saucer. She's a perfect fit.]
[It's a thoughtful sound, one almost hopeful sounding as he himself brings his coffee to his lips. Taking a drink of what remains as he watches Isis. It's a cute little beast, he'll give it that. Not nearly as bitchy as Lydia seemed to imply it would be.
Placing his mug down, he smiles little placidly.]
In the event that is not all...mayhap it is truly imperative I make amends. Would that the journey less daunting a task, however...
[Does he know he's being this obvious? Tyler is genuinely not sure.]
If you can find a Pokemon to ride, you could make it there in something like a third of the time. I've actually never travelled the route between Goldenrod and Ecruteak myself, I came from the opposite direction. Flying reduces it to a few hours, but I don't actually know how many other people are flight-capable.
[It's less that he's being obvious, and more that he just...can't help but complain about such things. Even before being locked into mortality like this, he's tired all the time, and now he is especially. Thus the coffee.
He's got a reputation among his kind for never rising unless something is worth his time.]
But you are?
[Of course this just makes it seem like he was leading up this the whole time, but honestly he just wanted to bitch about the idea of traveling.]
[Dislike. Dislike to that smug little face and dislike to him trying to be so submissive about it right now. It is, genuinely, rather disarming to see him switch so quickly, despite knowing what a greasy schmoozer he is.
So there's obvious consternation on his face, and some awkwardness to his hand motions, because he has found himself on the back foot again.]
I hardly think it's an appropriate time for it. The trip would still take nearly twelve hours, even before the required rests.
Nay, I do not mean in this moment, for I am in no immediate rush. Buuuut... say once we have better prepared for such a trip, hmmm?
[Still he's keeping that disarming look, the slight slant to his eyebrows, the soft, small smile. This is hardly the expression one might expect from the guy who was making a huge ass of himself the other day, lording his superiority like a birthright (which it is).]
[It is absolutely not an expression Tyler was expecting out of this guy. And despite himself, knowing that this guy is playing him and trying to be oh so fucking subtle about it...
...there's a fresh layer of pink on his cheeks.
Fucking sue him, he misses someone looking at him like that.]
I... [His hands stutter, trying to find the right words and failing miserably.] ...suppose.
There's no falter to his expression, nothing that gives the lie to his genuineness. Even at the delight in seeing the warmth to Tyler's face, and how he stutters and hesitates to agree, he holds fast his performance. For all he allowed that sly smirk to show for a moment, now he doesn't allow anything at all to.
He does, however, allow his expression to brighten at Tyler's acquiescence, bringing a hand to his chest as he bows his head to him.]
[No don't do that, Tyler's blush just got worse. Fuck you. Fuck off.
Isis finally takes her gaze away from Solus for a moment, turning to look at Tyler as he pushes himself up in his seat, physically pulling himself together a bit by tugging his shirt straight and sitting more upright.
When he starts signing again, hand motions brusque again, Isis turns her attention back on Solus.]
Is there anything else you'd like to know, while I'm here? I've got some work to do after this that I'd like to get ahead of.
[He lifts his head, peering up at him with an almost affectionate look as he places his hand back down on the table to join the other. Yep, he's still got it.]
Nay, not that I can think of. Truly, you've done me a great service already, scant do I wish to keep you from your work.
[His tone is light and airy, almost...sweet.]
I thank you—and you too Isis—for your most generous aid.
[Now that he knows it works, he most certainly won't stop it. The little teleportation trick is a neat one, something Solus will ponder on later, but for now...]
Of course. Until then, my friend.
[He languidly gives Tyler a little wave as he goes, quite content with himself and his wonderful success in this whole thing. Man does he love coming out on top.]

He grimaces slightly.]
Yes, actually. That's why I was out last week, I was getting the badges and HM for it.

Perchance would you be willing to assist me, then? I would ever be obliged to your dutiful kindness.

Tyler doesn't blush any worse, but he doesn't make eye contact with Solus. Which is, from the deaf young man, the height of Fuck You.
He only signs very briefly -]
You're welcome. Let me know when you are ready.
[- before Isis looks away and disappears in a blink to teleport onto Tyler's shoulder, as he takes his coat and leaves.
Ugh, now he needs a shower after this.]
