As it ever is, you know well I will not suffer boredom, though far from boring he yet is.

That is certainly not a bad idea. It is rather rudimentary and straight forward. Ever is he filled to the brim with ideas, but he hesitates to indulge. I cannot help but wonder why.
[Who could have foretold that Hythlodaeus was going to take that as a suggestion to cuddle? Certainly not Hades with how he leans into him more fully, his own arm looping loosely over Hythlodaeus' waist.]
Well am I aware--though, at least for the most part, the mortals of our home worry little over such matters. Though they concern themselves with matters of race, trivial though such matters are.
[He lets out a soft sigh, letting his eyes close.]

That is half of my problems with their ilk. Their shortsighted and pointless squabbling lends itself to needless suffering and bloodshed. Like animals, they snarl and snap at one another, without much thought nor deeper reflection of the crumbling world around them. Too selfish, too blinded by their self importance--one that does not truly exist.
[He sighs, drawing himself closer--till he realizes his glasses are still on with a surprised grunt as he feels the frames dig into him a little. Drawing back just enough, he takes them off, and turns just enough to lay them upon his book, before returning to his cozy little spot against Hythlodaeus. Tucked under his chin.]
...It does. Yet, it has been ages since. I both feel as though it was not long ago, and that yearning nostalgia for those simpler, halcyon days. When my deepest concerns were whether or not you'd make a fool of me in my work, whether or not I might make it home without your keen eyes finding me ere I reached my destination.
[He smiles, hidden against Hythlodaeus, shrouded by the dark of the room.]
Though, I always secretly hoped you would. This I am certain you are aware.
[ He lets out a little giggle as he draws back to take off his glasses. He’s certain that he’s smiling in any case.]
You could have done much better to avoid me, it is true. Rarely did you take an odd alley or heaven forbid, jog. I knew you liked it when I’d find you passing under the lamp lights.
[His wine is still beside him too, but like the trashfire he is, he'll likely drink it in the morning... Besides, he's far more invested with reminiscing about the paradise they've both lost.]
Mm, they were. Lost, but not forgotten. Cherished more now, than I ever did back then. Foolish of me to take you for granted.
[He says this, but he feels an ache in his chest. In a sense, is he no doing the same now? Here he has him once more, and yet... That smile fades, replaced by something far more conflicted. Guilty. His brows pinch together, and he uses that loose hold on Hythlodaeus' waist to draw their bodies nearer.
He wants to kiss his neck, to let his hands explore the expanse of his body, to soothe the ache they share for one another. But he cannot. He knows he should not. Yet, they both would torture each other with this allowed intimacy.
[For a long moment, Hades is silent. One might assume he's fallen asleep. He hasn't, but Hythlodaues is likely knowing of such, since the man likely knows the difference between his breathing when he's awake and asleep. With his own even breath, he sighs a little solemnly.]
I do not know. I would love for little more than to bring you into the fold of our relationship...I desire you as I alway have, and I think you and he could certainly find companionship in each other...yet.
[Again, he pauses to find the right words.]
He is rather focused on exclusivity, that I belong to him, and him alone. And vice versa. I would rather enjoy him opening up to other possibilities, that there is benefit in having a third to such romantic entanglements, but I fear such is a topic to be eased into. An idea to be planted, and nurtured with tenderness and care.
Dirk is a stubborn man, and equally sensitive. It would be a grave err to inspire his ire with a tactless and thoughtless approach.
