Whether or not this is truly a misfire, or you are merely using your daughter as a means to cover your humiliation at my rejection. I am not one to rob another of their dignity without reason.

There is naught "creepy" about admiring the close bond between kin. I, too, have sired children, and know well how such a role of guardianship fills one's bosom with love and adoration.


[Is it a little uncouth to use his late sons to mess with Jack, even if what he's saying isn't actually a lie? Probably, but he's seeing this less like he's actually admitting to those very true and real feelings, and more that Jack isn't going to take him seriously, and see it for the mocking he's trying to present it as.]
