That is half of my problems with their ilk. Their shortsighted and pointless squabbling lends itself to needless suffering and bloodshed. Like animals, they snarl and snap at one another, without much thought nor deeper reflection of the crumbling world around them. Too selfish, too blinded by their self importance--one that does not truly exist.

[He sighs, drawing himself closer--till he realizes his glasses are still on with a surprised grunt as he feels the frames dig into him a little. Drawing back just enough, he takes them off, and turns just enough to lay them upon his book, before returning to his cozy little spot against Hythlodaeus. Tucked under his chin.]

...It does. Yet, it has been ages since. I both feel as though it was not long ago, and that yearning nostalgia for those simpler, halcyon days. When my deepest concerns were whether or not you'd make a fool of me in my work, whether or not I might make it home without your keen eyes finding me ere I reached my destination.

[He smiles, hidden against Hythlodaeus, shrouded by the dark of the room.]

Though, I always secretly hoped you would. This I am certain you are aware.
